Heather Rush, Family Dog Trainer

Heather has been training family dogs since 2002.  After interning with Becky Bishop at Puppy Manners, she opened Flying Ace Puppy School in 2003.  Her training techniques are influenced by her experiences with some of the most forward thinking people in dog training, including Brian Kilcommons, Sue Sternberg, Patricia McConnell, Sarah Wilson and Kathy Sdao.

Heather’s training philosophy is aimed at opening the lines of communication between handlers and their dogs.  With fun, fair and practical methods she helps dogs and handlers find a common ground of trust and connection.

Heather is a therapy instructor and evaluator for Reading With Rover, as well as a Director on Reading With Rover’s Board of Directors.  Heather has volunteered therapy work for over 15 years, first with Ace, then with True, and currently with Thea. She spent many years volunteering foster care for Homeward Pet and MEOW Cat Rescue.  She currently competes in Nosework with her beagle, Thea.
