Teaching tricks is a great way to build the bond between you and your dog. It increases communication, strengthens your relationship and helps keep training positive. The more you learn with your dog, the better. Plus, it’s just fun!
In this class, we’ll introduce your puppy or dog to the clicker, which can aid in teaching new skills. We’ll learn some fun tricks as well as some useful obedience skills. You’ll learn how and why the clicker is helpful in teaching new behaviors, and you’ll learn how to apply it as you continue your training in other classes or on your own.
We’ll work on some common tricks like “shake” and “spin,” some useful tricks like “go to your bed” and some just plain fun tricks, like “weave” and “crawl.” I am always open to suggestions, so if there is a trick you have always wanted to learn, we’ll tackle it!
Concerned about juggling the clicker and treats? Don’t want to have to carry a clicker? No problem! We’ll also teach how to train clicker techniques using a marker word or sound that you can use anytime, anywhere.
Dogs of all ages are welcome in class. This class is a great fit for puppies just starting out, or for older dogs who are ready to learn some new tricks.
All dogs must be current on their vaccines and have had a recent clear fecal exam.
NOTE: Aggressive dogs are not permitted in Flying Ace Puppy School group training classes. We are happy to refer you to local trainers who specialize in dogs with aggression issues.
